Ruyi Residence Area
The Qingdao Ruyi Residence Area project has 106,000㎡of space to be heated. The cold-water phase change energy heat pump system takes latent heat discharged during water freezing and uses this heat flow for building heating. This system will be operational in the 2018 heating season, and its implementation eliminates the need to burn 920 tons of coal annually, for building heating. Although this reduced use of coal is significant by itself, the real highlight of this heat pump system is that through use of phase change energy extraction, the water flow required for building heating is about only one tenth of that needed for conventional water source heat pump systems. This effectively eliminates a barrier to the use of water source heat pumps for building heating—at least in certain circumstances—thereby demonstrating KC Blue’s unique breadth and depth of its heat pump technology and capability.
